I purchased this back in 2001 Here is the loco opened up Here she is totally stripped down Well, to shorten this story, I always wanted to decoderize and run her on DCC. However there was a short that I just found and eliminated about 6 months ago. I added a ZIMO decoder and it has performed very well. Still not happy, so I have installed an ESU 73100 decoder, 9x16 speaker, headlight wired to aux 3 output with resistor. Sounds good and runs well. Will do a video in the future. Yes, all that stuff fits under the tender shell. BTW, I added an Athearn plastic tender a few years ago. Much easier to work with than the brass. Thinking about painting this in the Greyhound scheme. But I don't think 3985 was ever in grey so I would loose the 3985. I now have 844, 4014, and 3985. Cool steam program on part of the UP. Thanks for looking and as always, have fun, Carl
