Finally finished up a QNS&L GP-38. I am still working on 2 SD40-2's and an AC4400. I finally got the decals worked out for both units (EMD and GE) and had a few of them printed up. Got the stripes to the correct width so I don't have to trim them down. Whatcha think?
Superb work as always Jeff! How's that work load looking? I got a few more when you have time. :tb-biggrin: -Mike
Really nice job. Paint jobs with lines that connect the body with the cab are always fun to do... Brian
I think the hardest part is the striping over top of the cab. I start by placing the stripes on the back of the cab (black stripe at the tops of the cab door windows) and working my way up. The rest of the striping is pretty straight forward.
One other thing too, I started making my own anti-glare panels. I got tired of buying the Microscale set just to get 4 black ones from it. So, while I was finalizing the decals for the QNSL's I drew one up in AutoCAD (pretty easy) and got it sized correctly. I know some painters tape off and paint this (including the guy who printed the decals), however, I think it is much easier to apply the decal. Plus alot of them fit on one sheet.
i created my anti glare panels in microsoft word i only mask and airbrush anti glare panels in g-scale.
hey your locos are very impressive, they are greatly painted. I wondered where you could of baught your decals because i enjoy QNS&L and it is my home railway but i never found some decals. Id be happy to know where you took them. thank you
Nice work, I was going to say your anti-glare panals are much better looking then the ones on my BN units but I masked them off and painted them, wish I would have thought of decals for that! Kevin
Same prob here with multiple paint jobs going on,very frustrating....interested in selling some sheets Jeff? Paint separation looks fantastic as alaways Jeff, very nice work & look forward to the next one.....?
