Here's what I've been working on as of late...another bridge for the layout. This one is going to go across my version of the Tuolomne River on the Sierra RR branch line. It's a model of a real trestle over the Tuolomne, although on the West Side Lumber RR, not the Sierra. But I liked the looks of it, and it's my railroad
Looks great, Dave! Glad to see you here on the T'Board. How is the layout otherwise? Best of wishes to you and your family.
Thanks for the kind words gang. Yes, it's scratchbuilt, and I also can't wait to see it installed on the layout!! John -- since you were here, I've gotten the Caliente horseshoe area somewhat scenic'd, and now I'm starting on the Tuolomne River / Sierra RR section. Slow progress
Absolutely! But since my Sierra #46 GP9 is still in it's undec state, I figured the SP SW would make a suitable stand in
Progress shots... And a shot showing the less glamorous section of the layout... The new trestle is the farthest one to the left. I've compressed about 50 miles of the Tuolomne River into 3 feet . The 2 larger trestles to the right are in downtown Modesto, and the new one to the left is east of Standard, CA (50 miles or so to the east, far into the foothills)! The sawmill at Chinese Camp will be where the wood chip cars are, and also on the area to the left of the wood chip cars (still need to put in the spur tracks) Gotta love selective compression.
