If you all remeber the head on wreck in CA. I saw this video at the same saftey meeting, it finally made it out to YouTube. Basicly this train is in dark territory around Etter, Tx. Another crew left a switch open and this is the result. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yH5E4Ys0Q10"]YouTube - Etter, Tx train wreck[/ame] Adam
Wooooow!!mg: I saw the aftermath pic's of this-not pretty!! That has got to be the worst feeling in the world, coming up on a mis-aligned switch at speed. Luckily, they were going slower than the posted speed, due to a slow order on the other end of town.
The other crew must have been at Dumas,TX just before tying up their train......:giggle7yc::giggle7yc::unsure8ao:
I wouldn't think this "local" crew that left the switch against the main is no longer employeed by BNSF. Bet they are at the WalMart or McDonald's looking for work.
We have been doing "switches used" thing releasing track warrents for this reasion. Was this set up as a siding, were they pulled through on the drop? Good thing they werent methanol cars..
