I wanted to add some more lights to a grade crossing without having to replace the existing NJI signal with a cantilever signal or something, so I made a double-headed signal to go on the left side of the street. Although double-headed signals can be found in the real world, this is probably a pretty unusual installation. Opinions welcome on how you think this looks. The signals are driven by a LogicRail Grade Crossing Pro and the NJI gate is animated by a Tortoise Switch Machine. Russ
Very cool! Can't say that I've ever seen one in that configuration before. Nice roads, also! How did you do the "RXR" symbols on the road?
Thanks, guys! Dave, the RXR markings on the roadway were made from a stencil I purchased a long tima ago. I can't remember who made it right now though. OC, that signal does have a similar appearance. Thanks for posting it! Russ
Great soldering, Russ. I just don't even attempt that type stuff. That's a great ground-level shot. How about a picture with a train in there?
There is a set just like those outside of Lafayette Indiana. The highway takes a sudden dip just as it gets to the crossing. You cant see the flashers normally until you get into the dip. So there is a set up high so that you can see them before the dip and a regular set once your in the dip. Good job!
Russ, awesome work, you've been busy lately! I saw your other crossing gates and your MOW truck in railimages, they look great, please show us how you did it and what you used! my best, Jan
