Guys, I have been working through the ideas and suggestions posted from the last time I placed a plan. Took most sugestions (Too much clutter etc) and then decided to start from a published plan and put in some of the items I wanted to incorporate. All and all I think this is a good compromise between all the ideas and what I wanted. I could not get away from the gate or whatever I decide to place. Thanks for looking and providing input [ November 16, 2005, 01:08 AM: Message edited by: Colonel ]
Owen: I like the plan very much. I think the reverse loop you've added will keep you on your toes at the throttle. I really like reverse loops when a layout runs on DCC. Go for it, I think you'll have alot of fun with that layout. Stay cool and run steam.... [ November 15, 2005, 10:21 PM: Message edited by: Powersteamguy1790 ]
Owen, loop to loop is a good idea. What's the size of the room? H0 ? Where will stations be? The red line is under or over the yard? Wolfgang
Wolfgang Size of room is 10*10 feet. Nscale. The station will be in the yard along the double track and on the opposite side just north of the secound reverse loop. Thanks for your comments, everyone!!!
I like the over all idea.: 1) I would redesign the yard to include a compound ladder and a run – a – round 2) You might want to reduce the right hand table to about 3 feet. 3) You might want to move the yard closer to the front and the reverse loop run to the back. This would allow easier access to the yard and make blending with a “non city” backdrop easier.
Looks good. I like the way you've pulled the tracks together for the ?gate? Because it's N scale the layout can be fairly high so even if you end up with a duck under you can do it in 6".
Triplex Yes it would have been nice, but when I started the planning the grades it just did not work out. So back to the drawing board, put another one on page two of my rail images album on page two, still mulling that one around.
Bob All I need is Five more turnouts and I will still have some track left over. I have already returned some track to the LHS for other items.
Owen: That's alot of Unitrack.....You and your son are going to busy for quite some time. How many feet of mainline track is there on the layout? Stay cool and run steam....
