Hi all, Long time modeler, finally getting active again! I started modeling with my Dad in my preteens, and was active in the club in our area. A few years ago I relocated internationally and now live in Northern Virginia, and just recently joined the NVMR here. Current projects include a 2x4 N-scale Coffee Table, and an HO test/programming/display track with scenery (rolling stock is not the only skill being tested on this one!). Both of these in addition to DCC installations in a number of locos I brought with me. My main interest is HO, with a broad focus on NS in the late 80s and early 90s. Chris
Welcome to Trainboard, Chris. Sounds like you are "multi-scale." Just out of curiosity, where did you relocate from internationally?
For the N scale side of your interests, there will be an N scale convention in late June 2014 down in Roanoke. They are always fun to attend.
I grew up in the suburbs of Wellington, New Zealand. The next common question I get is "why" - the short version: Met my wife on the internet when we were about 12, talked for years, decided we liked each other, talked some more. At about 19, she visited me and my family for a month, and the next year I visited her. After that, we realized one of us had to move, so in April of 2008 (in hindsight, a terrible job market to move in to) I landed in semi-rural Virginia and got married. About a year ago I got a job here in NoVA, and moved a few months later. I wouldn't say I'm multi-scale so much, the N-scale coffee table is what I have primarily because it fits in the apartment! HO is my primary focus, it just takes up more space which, in a 2 bedroom apartment, isn't something I have an abundance of.
