Hello all: Joined tonight - - been in the hobby off and on for a long long time. Built two pretty good layouts for the kids and me to play with, but time and work took over. We have grandkids and our son asked - - "hey can you set something up for the kids? Sure. They are 4 and 2 so no need to impress. Have space above the garage which is nice, insulated and has a carpet. Planning on doing a 13x 15 around the wall HO layout; 3-foot high; 30 inches deep-ish; just one big old boring loop for now, space with a few sidings here and to have room and capability to expand from without tearing up tracks. Feeder wires to insure power. Only thing I have no idea how to do is a lift bridge, so I came here. There ya go...and we're off and running. --Spunky
Welcome to TrainBoard! There might be something in the message archives. Check the Layout Design Forum, Inspection Pit, or specific scale forum of interest. Or just ask in one of those forums.
There has indeed been a lot written about lift- or swing-bridges for access. And it should be a great layout with three generations involved!
Hi Spunky, Welcome to the TrainBoard, glad to have you on board. I have no experience with a lift bridge, but I can help you build a mountain that you can "lift" up to retrieve a derailed train in the tunnel...LOL
