Hello there from Franklinton NC (just north of Raleigh). I'm primarily an N scaler but I dabble in Nn3, and of course if you participate in that particular brand of insanity sooner or later you will end up with some Z as well. My home layout track plan is roughly based on my hometown of Clarinda IA but that's where the similarity ends because it looks nothing like the place. There in my little N scale world you will regularly see a CB&Q SD9 Redbird setting out and picking up cars while a Pennsy K4 pulls the varnish through. The Erie and Norfolk and Western make their appearances as well now and again. I have both DC and DCC (not at the same time of course) on the N scale layout, the DC duties are handled by a PWM controller mounted to the control panel and an NCE PowerCab does the DCC side of it. I don't have anything permanent for either Nn3 or Z yet, but I plan on going all DC with them because the thought of putting decoders into those little engines is a bit more than I can handle at present. Maybe that will change, there are certainly plenty of folks doing it. I look forward to learning as much as I can from all of you.
It's still very much a work in progress. As soon as I figure out how to put some pics in I will do so.
Hi Ipcard, Welcome, happy to have you on board. I understand your layout concept, IA, sorta. Mine has various scenes of my youth, or at least the way I remember them....again, sorta. LOL Love to see some photos whenever you feel like sharing. Remember, nothing is ever finished. Sharing a photo of anything is great.
