Atlas will not release a product if they feel that the tooling is not correct. They want to release the the best they can. Furthermore since the manufacturing is outside of the USA they do not have total control on the manufacturing process, container loading and handling, customs here in the USA, weather etc and believe it or not, the railroads that haul the containers from the west coast to the east coast. I, like everyone else, have had to wait for something because of some type of delay. Most of the time when I have received it, it was worth the wait.

    Their Claims

Apparently it's the tooling or they're awaiting more preorders from what I've found out.

In 2005 I ordered a MP15 from a dealer. Atlas had advertised an estimated October delivery. Some time in January the container arrived, I got the loco in February.

Atlas will release it eventually. I'd rather have it right than on time if those are the choices.

They aren't in business because they quit shipping out trains. There are other companies who have followed that business model and have not done so well.

    Good luck!

If anyone remembers the Atlas N scale original shay release, it was delayed for months. I am happy with a manufacturer that will NOT release something but will correct design flaws first.

    When do we learn?

    When do we learn?

It will be here when it gets here.

Over the years (I've said redundantly) manufacturers have made announcements and modelers have been disappointed on the delivery dates. Nothing has changed in that regard.

The way I look at is simple... KISS. When I see it in the hobby shop..."It's HERE!"...then I get excited.

You guys and gals Keep right on whining, grumbling and complaining...who knows it might work. You can hope it pays off. It hasn't for the last 47 years I've been in the hobby. Hummm, I wonder... does that send a message?

See you at the hobby shop...that is when I get there. No promises as to my arrival/delivery date either. I mean heck, even my wife couldn't deliver a baby as promised by the doctor. :)

    Have fun!
