I was really happy with progress with my Badger 150

I finally got the right paint consistency, right air pressure. Everything was fine. THEN, no paint coming out. I checked it all. I completely disassembled the brush. I cleaned, I shined.

What I forgot to do was to check both active paint cups. There was so much dried up paint in the bottom of the cups, there was no draw. Ultrasonic bath for an hour, dental pick to remove the now gloppy paint and I was again spraying away.

    Lesson Learned- check your cups.

Glad you found out what was causing your problem.I just got the same airbrush a couple of weeks ago and had the same results as you did. But,my cups are new,no old paint build up.Finally started working after a bit.Still no clue what happened.

I have the same problem with my paint cups. About every 2 months I have to give them a good soaking.

    Halfpint-

Are you pushing the needle all the way in? Some folks say that the needle is to be inserted only so far so that you can see it peeking out of the hole in the nozzle. Also, are you tightening the lower part of the head with the little wrench and inserting the O ring before screwing it on?

There is another thing that I forgot to mention which will cut down on clogging and spitting-

Use a strainer for the paints to put the liquid in the cup. Pearl Paint has three different funnels available with screens numbered 40, 80 and 100 (referring to the tightness of the screen across the funnel. I have found that the #40 is quite sufficient to allow only liquid without goops to get into the cup. I use it with Liquitex acrylics thinned with airbrush medium or water. Just remember to thoroughly wash out the funnel BEFORE embarking on the airbrushing, lest it dry there which will render it useless for the next time.
