News Another "first" in Z? GE U30C

I think so, another new design from my workshop. The loco is, as usual in the meantime, an all metal design with an etched shell and a modified SD40-2 chassis. Lots of other road names are possible.

WOW! You've done it again! Maybe since Marklin is now working with AZL, they or AZL may start mass producing your works of art. Keep up the great work!

Top shelf Gerd! It has got to a point where I almost expect the unexpected from you. What is next? Modified steammers?

 

Very nice. Is an U30C shorter than a SD40-2? I would have never guessed. How do you make those trucks? Etched frameside on top of the original?

Not a complete steamer, but some other tender for the Mike....

 

Yes, the wheelbase is slightly shorter. Etched frames go on top of the original SD40-2 frames, but all details apart from the axle bearings have to be removed first

 

Yet again Excellent work!!. I don't know how you do it but keep it up. It gives me incentive to try and do something different and to get my layout started.

CB&Q had these too Just not in may part of the country, as they would have fallen off the tracks

U30C in Burlington Northern colors for Timothy Dike. Main difference to my FCP model are plated side windows, beacon and snow plows

Awesome as usual! Anything upcomming that you are working on that might surprise us?

 

I guess I have enough released in the last 12 month: U30C, U33C, Dynastack, Ortner Aggregate, G50-7 Drop Bottom Gondola, RS11. Only thing I haven't shown is the MP15AC, but don't get too exited, I only do 1 per year, need the time to restore my nerves....

 

... Just waiting for an U23B.
