True. But what if the alternative to buying it from "site B" is not being able to afford buying it at all? (Such as seniors on fixed incomes...) This also is not good for the hobby.
Or kids just starting out. Or that young parent with a new family and mouths to feed, a higher rent or mortgage payment to house them, a bigger car to carry them, etc. This is a hobby, after all, not a necessity. All I'm saying is that those of us who have and can afford a local hobby retailer, should support that retailer as much as we can. That's more for some of us, and less for some of us. There is a cost associated with losing a local retailer, too. Maybe not monetarily, but in other, less tangible but just as valuable ways.
By new I only meant since the old man passed away and his son took over. Great stock, old school vibe, full price but they will often give a discount at the register. I'm in far north Arlington, and unless I am driving in the Addison area, it is so hard to go to DMT, and I rationalize that the gas money there evens out most of the price discount, since I still like to support shops that support N. I will say, DMT has all the N scale structures you could want, probably.
