I am happy to announce the new Friends Of the Burlington Northern (FOBNR) Historical Society page on Facebook. The creation of this page was discussed and approved by the board at our recent convention in Amarillo, TX. The goal is to disseminate information more quickly and to reach out to the many BN and BNSF fans that may not be aware of everything our great organization has to offer. And, to update everyone about upcoming FOBNR activities. The link is: Http://www.facebook.com/fobnr For a short time, for every 50 likes we get we will have a drawing for a special FOBNR gift!
Thanks! We're at 50+ "Likes" now so I think we're headed in the right direction. Still working out a few issues but I hope to start posting some good content very soon.
"..., the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway and the BNSF Railway". Just curious- Is there actually a difference between the two?
Yes. Back in late 2004 (?) BNSF officially changed their name and logo. The spelled-out version of the name is no longer used. --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?vns1so
We have a radio personality in this region, who when there is something to be said about this railroad always says it as "the Burlington Northern and the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Raail Waaay".
Ha, yes any newscast around here (BNSF Mothership) the news usually says Burlington Northern. Sometimes shortened to just Burlington.
