After 1 year of development,….Hum? maybe that was 2 years and a half, anyway... I know it took me a wile, I am proud to introduce…..Drumroll.!!!!!!:bear-biggrin: I’ve finally made the Pointe Sainte-Charles Caboose available in 2 formats, "CN" and "ARR". Plus a CN transfer van too! Detail on my web site Link I'll be updating my web site in the coming weeks with more info, all related to questions I received and tips to help construct those kits. Have fun!!! Ben
We ordered the Pt Charles version for CN from z-scale monster. seems funny buying a Canadian made kit from a US source and getting it shipped back across the border and paying the customs fees to do so.
Yes I agree, all relate to the market of Z, Can you believe I have this VECRR© siting at 8km from my home (it is locked, not to be seen by anyone, only one day per year can we go beside, plus it is not operational) and it is in one of the biggest train museum in the province. Also, since I started manufacture my models, I have not sold one single kit in Quebec province, not a single one! 7millions of population:bear-err:. So I must apologize for the disagreement this is causing to fellow Canadians who supports me. Ben
Yes, I can....The Gold Coast Railroad Museum in Miami ADVERTISES the following: The fine print... It is in their collection, IT IS NOT on display. The museum employee in the model train building advised when I visited that they had recently taken it off display. sigh, but they had other trains on display:tb-biggrin:.
Ben, I was " jumped up and down " and called Robert when I saw these cabooses new release on ztrack.:tb-biggrin: Antoni just notify me they on the way to my house. They look very close to N scale I have built. Will post pictures soon. Hien.
Ben; That is the way it goes in this scale. Anthony said mine is on it way. I may come back for more but I am a CP fan so waiting for CP to purchase some more. But I could not resist the CN caboose in Z now I have to get an engine to go with it. Can't wait to build the kit.
Hi Hien Your NScale CN Caboose are looking real great, are they Photoetched? Remember, mine are all wood, I couldn't achieve such thinness on the end ramps. Release on ztrack ??? I think you mean ZScaleMonster, right?:bear-laugh: Hope you'll find my kits to your satisfaction, and most of all, having fun building them. Regards Ben What a coincidence, the CPR Angus Shops Wide Vision Caboose kit is already started, and it wont be the same "nooby" mistake I did a few years back, it wont be like this one I've made. But the CPR Angus Shops Wide Vision Caboose, will be this one here. Ben
Hi Ben, Have you thought about doing the CN and CP cabooses in N Scale also. There are brass kits available in N but I can't remember any laser cut wood kits for those lines. Might give you abit larger market for your great products. Look forward to the release of the Z CP Rail Cabeese. Bob
I don't know for CP but there is a N SCale Pointe Saint-Charles caboose laser kit available here Link, (at the bottom of the page) And a big thanks to the Admins of Trainboard, for not flaming me like some other forums did, because I had put links to suppliers, there is in reality no personal gain except to help people find stuff, I appreciate it. Bob to answer your question, It is a no-no for Nscale unfortunatelly, my main material would not withstand the size. and thin or Findland plywood is a pain to find over here. Plus,, I'm not crossing to the dark side yet.:bear-tongue: Ben
Glad to hear of the CP caboose in the works. I built one like yours in the picture form Marlin caboose. Will do until I get the wide vision one.
that looks very close the Rio Grande center-mounted-cupola version of their wide vision cabeese. dave f.
Hi Ben, Thanks for the link to Osborne, they have some neat Canuck items there. I ordered a Caboose, we'll see if it is as good as Roberts were, hope so. Bob
I think it is a good an easy kit (very quick construction), but mine have a lot more details, Like round funnel, more underframe details, glass beads for red and green lights, not just a printed paper template, ditch lights, wire for hand rails, real window framing, not plastic stickers etc... Ben
Ben, knowing the quality of your laser cut kits I don't think anyone will be disappointed in your newest creation. You are one of the standards to which I look up to! Karin
May be a little offtopic for this thread, but you can watch some action on VECRR on my pages for the Eurospoor 2003 exhibition. http://www.platelayer.com/tour/eurospoor2003/index.htm Here you will find some pictures and a video. (I just uploaded the video to youtube today, because it was not working correctly on my own site)
Hi Ben, I have finished the first caboose and very happy with it, as your notice I have change, modify and add some details. I suggest, you should have multiple car numbers in your decal set. Hien.
