Some gifts from Mrs Moose: Yep, stickers for Mr Moose's water bottle and something to hold da Moose glasses... Note: The rest of the gifts included: 1. A spin cycle to match the one Mr Moose gave her so da Mooses can winter train together, and 2. An AMT 1/25 scale Nova SS model just like the one Moose built when just a mooselet.
Earlier this month, my recent purchase was intercepted at the mailbox and showed up in my stocking Christmas morning, does that count?
He, he, wondered who would spot that! Talk about, 'do not hump shunt', switcher crew are looking kinda nervous.
Microsoft removed DVD playing software from Windows 10 some years ago when Windows Media Center was axed. I downloaded VLC Media Player. It's free and is widely used. https://www.videolan.org I'm not a computer guy, so can't help beyond that.
Thanks Hardcoaler. Perhaps that helps explain what the tech guy was referring to a year ago. That this old beast can't run W10 correctly. But then a week ago I got 'DCC Programming Vol.2' from Model Railroading. Which means I'll have to watch it in bed. That's were the player is now. Oh well I recorded the connection. Maybe I should use Hoghead2's cargo on it. The confuser that is. Rich
Thanks for the link to that operations program. IT WORKS! I just finished watching 'Constructing DPM Kits' and learned some. I also made contact with a guy that remodels slightly used computers, like I used to do, and I have one available in a couple weeks. He's taking a vacation. That's ok because my veteran's disability and two little retirement plans come on the first. Also SS goes up on the fourth wednesday. Thanks again. I'll be saving this oldy for use with the layout. I just need a 123 block and a device to square corners. Rich
Some serious pucker factor there... The rail transportation shock requirements for military equipment is incredible! At least if there is a container, the container can mitigate the shock considerably, but the cost of mitigating such requirements is eye-opening. They get really picky when things go boom when/where they shouldn't (or don't go boom when/where they should!)
I have used their media player for many years. It works beautifully. Except the random play feature. It will only go so long, (working just fine), then it simply stops and I must re-start it again. No ideas why. Have fiddled with the settings a bunch, but no luck. Yes. I have the most current version.
Mine has done the same. How do you restart to finish the CD? Or should I just watch it on the TV. I also have a CD outside the computer that plugs into a USB port, will that work better. It's in storage. I will be able to get a newer computer sooner. Maybe later this week.
Windows 8/8.1 does not have DVD capability either. Still using that for now. If I update at some point, it'll be to Win 10. Also downloaded VLC, once I realized I could not watch videos.
Nothing train related! Got 3 movie DVD's. Kung Fu Panda 3 movie collection Minions Movie New Scooby Doo Movies, The (almost) complete collection Bought my self a 3 pack of Atlas tank cars though, from TrainBoard swap meet, and a BigBoy that'ssomewhere out there! That's a close as I get! Mom doesn't know what to get. What do you get the person that has way too much "stuff"?? Besides More stuff??
The VLC helped but still doesn't complete. Even after I got an upgrade from them. The CD player that plugs into a USB port is even worse. It stalls sooner. I guess I will have to get a little tv and use the CD player for that in my work shop. I should be getting the newer computer today or tomorrow so I'll try that first. And read my new book on DCC. It's very good coverage. Rich
