I think I know the answer, but I'm gonna ask to make sure. I have a Kato SD-70M without a decoder. Can I run that on a NCE powercab system? Or do I have to wait till I get the decoder?

You can run one analog loco on a DCC system. With the Lenz system the address is 000. It must be the same for the NCE system but check on it. Be sure to remove it from your tracks after you finish running it or you'll burn up the motor.

Stay cool and run steam.....

I have the NCE PowerCab and I’m pretty sure that you can NOT run a DC loco with the PowerCab. I skimmed the manual, but don’t remember seeing anything specific about the subject. I do remember that the guy at my LHS told me that one of the big differences between the PowerCab and other systems is that you can not run DC engines on the NCE systems like you can on the Lenz. As far as I know, there is no 000 address for nonDCC locos.
