Got my first layout as an Xmas present in 1952. Blew the mind of an 8 year old boy living in Toronto. The Lionel rolling stock in their original boxes is probably worth a fortune now. No idea what happened to them. Fast forward to the 1970s and a young Science teacher in northern Ontario was experimenting with my own design for transistorized throttles and HO block control. Sold it all and moved back to southern Ontario to get a Computer Science degree. Fast forward to the 1990s and a large DCC layout in HO in a cottage on the campus of a private school. Retired and sold it all. Fast forward to 2011 and retired in the tobacco country north of Lake Erie. Just bought Kato N Scale rolling stock and track. Here we go again. First try at N Scale. Ain`t it great! Bill
Hi Bill, Welcome to the TrainBoard, we're glad that you're aboard. My evolution of scales is similar to yours, though my transition to N occurred in the early 80's. I'm very impressed with how N's technology and craftsmanship has evolved into today's market, and don't regret switching one bit.
Welcome to TrainBoard! I, too, sometimes wonder about what my childhood trains might be worth... Oh well. Enjoy your N scaling. I certainly do enjoy mine!
