Seriously? We can't take a few lines to thank a member of our group and hobby for protecting the freedoms we have to do our hobby? On top of that, does it hurt us to talk about the meaning behind the model in question?

    JDG,

No they don't. This is a serious kitbashing project. I've done three so far and still have one, now with the Veterans revelation, two to go!

Same thing happened to me in the mid 1980's escorting a wounded teammate through SFO. I still remember the despised looks as we made our way to a connecting flight. Both of us in dress uniforms. He was on crutches and I had a separated shoulder. The only thing I remember hearing was a sole voice saying "Go Navy!" and a glance at an older gentleman saluting. I returned the salute and we continued on our way. And there were a barrage of comments that followed us all along the way. Never been through SFO since, and never will go there as long as I live. Like with Inkaneer it seems after 9/11, all of a sudden it was ok to be a service member, too bad that I transitioned into civilian life 6 years before. Now the GI Bill benefits are transferrable and all sorts of additional perks we never got.

That said, I did get one of theses locomotives, it is about the only sense of thank you I have for all my years "Feet Dry, Hostile".
