Any body have a clue why there was a SB Amtrak on these tracks? Have lived in this area all of my life and have never seen this occur before. Guessing some sort of detour for some reason Any help would on this would be appriciated :tb-confused:
Could be it, was a single unit on the point, and about 10-12 cars including 2 private ones tacked on the rear. Will post pics as soon as I can remember how to, not been on here for about a year due to some personal problems :tb-frown:
Track work on the UP ex GM&O near Alton has replaced miles of track & ties. Work continues on the Springfield-Alton-St Louis section. More work is coming up on the Joliet-Springfield section. In the meantime, the Texas Eagle has been re-routed on the UP ex C&EI route. Check on the Amtrak site for more dates. Get your camera ready!
Pics can eithert be done via attachment (the paper clip atop the post box) or by uploading to Photobucket, or maybe Railimgaes I don't have that yet (when I get a job though...)
