Heres a pic of the Piere Marqette making a stop on its daily trip between Grand Rapids,MI. and Chicago,ILL.

The PM 0f late (the real one that is) has been a P42 and 4 or 5 Superliners.

If anyone is interested this version is an ATLAS Dash 8-32BWH (PEPSI CAN),a Con-COR MHC boxcar, and a pair of Bachmann AMFLEET coaches.

Thanks Catt! Although I don't much like the Pepsi-can scheme, it certainly is distinctive! Are there still many Amfleet cars running? We rode those things both ways between Toronto and Flint, Mi. and were not impressed!

Looks like the Golden Arches in the background has a few patrons [IMG]

From 77-79, I attended a college in Ann Arbor Michigan (not Maize & Blue). I traveled frequently on Amtrak. That was when their on time record was "if we arrive on the same day as scheduled, you're doing great!"

I road the turboliner, and the Amfleet cars. I also road Amfleet cars between Springfield ILlinois and Chicago.

I thought the Amfleet cars were pretty good.

Now, I have a question for Catt....how did you make the coaches ride better. I have terrible problems, even with 22 inch radius. DId you add weight? What trucks are you using? And didn't Amtrak usually run the MRC's behind the coaches? I usually saw them in back.

    Looks cool

The ones I saw heading east from Chicago back in 2000 had the -8's (I think the ones I saw were all Ph4) with Horizon cars and an ex F40 Cab-Baggage on the other end.

Did they used to use the ex-Metroliner cab cars on these ones as well?

    Nice looking train anyhow. [IMG]

Very nice guys! I have my Kato Genny but no cars at the moment. I still use my old Amtrak U30CG by Trix and some Old Con-cor cars (Remember these?)

Catt- If I am not mistaken, is that not the famous town of LisaDee?

All I ever see on the PM now are superliners .I do know that the Amfleet cars are still being used except for the cabcars seem to have all been retired.

I still have the origonal trucks and will be adding at least a 1/4 oz. weight to both ends.If that doesn't help ,well the cabcars got standard outside bearing trucks put under them. :D

The MHCs seem to go wherever AMTRAK wants them.

I am planning to do a couple Cabbages even though they aren't seen around here anymore.

Russ, that is indeed the town of LisaDee.

    Catt,
Looks cool but would be even better if the P32 was in the phase 4 paint. :D

One of those F40 baggage cars would be cool to add also. Has anyone tried to model one yet? If so, what did you use for the baggage door?
