    Greetings,

Some time ago, I read in MR Magazine that Amtrak carries Auto Carriers on some of its runs (Florida or California if my memory serves me right).

Would there be any information on this available on the web, or from any of you Amtrak fans.

    Thanks,

I can't give alot of detail, as I live quite far from where the cares are used, but the AUTO TRAIN in Florida is where they are all used to the best of my knowledge. The train runs from Florida to somewhere up north on the east coast, I honestly couldn't tell ya!

thats a picture I found at the Unofficial AMTK. Photo Archive of the Auto Train.

There was also an article about ti about 2 years back(?) in Model Railroader.

    Happy Railroading!

Amtrak does indeed have an auto train. It runs between Orlando, Florida and Washington D.C. You can check out general and schedule information on Amtrak's own website. I also found an Amtrak Auto Train photo archive. The photos here are pretty good at showing off this particular operation.

There are a few photos of Amtrak auto carriers in the Amtrak Photo Archives, on this page:

    Hope that's useful,
