I went to the Amherst Railway Society Railroad Hobby Show last week (Jan 30 & 31). It was more crowded on Saturday than Sunday, with unseasonably warm weather both days. The show is huge, taking up four buildings on the Eastern States Exposition fairgrounds in West Springfield, MA. Even attending both days, you'll be hard pressed to see everything. Layouts, manufacturers' exhibits, railway and modeling societies, clubs, clowns, dealers, artists, demonstrations and classes, railfans, preservation societies, collectors, engineers, craftsmen, and just general train nuts. The show has it all. And I tried (and failed) to take pictures of it all. You can see my photos from the show on my Flickr album: Amherst Train Show 2016 There's 1200+ photos there (titles and descriptions to be added later) all available at full resolution for your viewing pleasure. And so many of these models need to be seen close up to admire the fantastic details. I'd also like to thank the many folks at the show who took the time to answer questions and chat about their models. Some selected photos from the show: New cars and locos from Atlas: Canadian Pacific motive power on the Dry Hill HO Layout: Fantastic new station on the Chester & Becket: Hope you enjoy the photos. Cheers!
