    Hi Everyone!

A while ago I announced I was going to come out with N Scale All Weather Windows. A lot of people on this board asked me about doing this part and I am writing this to thank them for their pateince (can't remember exactly everyone who got in contact with me about this part). It took me a LONG time to find an adequate clear resin to cast these parts out of.

Although they are not out yet, I am on the verge of adding this part to my list.

They will come two to a pack and as stated above, they will be cast in clear resin so it is up to the modeler to paint the frame of the window with the appropriate color.

Thank you once again every one for your pateince! [IMG]

    About time dude! [IMG]

I've managed to find a few of the old Loco-Details (Loco-Motives) all-weather windows from a friend here in Sydney and from Dallas Mallerich who was Loco-Motives, now Boulder Valley Models.
Now the Soo Sd40's can be finished but I will be needing more. Keep us in the loop, Craig.

    Gary.

Way to go Craig [IMG] , any Idea of the TBA price as I need alot for my NS units? Also will the resin accept paint much like regular styrene or will we be facing a Delrin type surface? At this point I just need some and painting is an afterthought. Looking forward to the AWWs and have a good one, Justin May

Thanks guys! The All Weather Windows are on my site now with a picture (and about 5 more new detail parts were added as well).

Justin, the resin I am using is really great stuff. I have had no problems painting the resin at all. It is however better to use thicker paint because if you go "out side the lines", you will ruin the window (paint will bleed all over it).

Sorry Alan, at this time I do not take credit cards, BUT, I think N Scale Supply doess (hint hint [IMG])

    Take care guys and thanks!

Here is a picture of a model I am working on. And yes to all you die hard NS fans, the hand rails should be yellow (painted them late at night and wasn't thinking right) [IMG]

It shows the all weather window (item #50), frame mounted bell (#38) and the pilot moumted ditch lights (#36).

Also, this is the same locomotive that I was talking about in the fiber optic thread. I used fiber optics on this one and the ditch lights and head lights do work.

    Here it is................

nice job craig but a simple question. why the winterization hatch and the ditch lights? the ns doesn't and never have run winter hatches and the sd45 was long gone before the ditchlights were required as they became wc and lease units for emd back when the sd50 and 60 was introduced.

Thank you both for the compliments!

This unit was going to start out as an MRL SD45 (same panit and everything as the SD35 Atlas did). I'm the type of guy that will put stuff on a locomotive just because I have it lying around. As for the ditch lights, those are one of my parts (in this case I drilled out the centers) so in a way it's advertising when I take this loco to a train show.

    Thanks guys and take care!
