This week here we added 2 more 30 dayers, 1 termination and 1 decertification for the big 7 offences. My question is it just here on the Nebraska Division or is it on the system that they are really enfforcing the rules. I don't think anyone will make it to retirement at the current rate.

bad part after th first 30 is the 3 year probation to termination 2 offence. Hogers getting nailed for set and centered hand whistle signs has to be over the radio. 30 days. 50 feet switches even letting off a crew member an he gets off at the switch or on a switch, ect. I uped my job insurance, now its not if you get fired its WHEN you get fired. Oh make sure that you have a job briefing within every 4 hours of the shift, 30 days. I'm gonna write a song 30 days and the endangered species "BNSF TY&E"

The bean counters figured out that, like General Motors, (who started this), it can save the company thousands of dollars if they demote, allow to quit, or kill off the high salaried employees before retirement. GM got caught demoting managers all the way down to foreman or even lead man a few months before retirement. That way the guy getss his retirement pay based on his salary rate at time of termination. Lot of difference between what he would have got as manager, and what they had to pay him. Other big companies would make your life so miserable, you quit, so they saved too. Now, the companies are using the safety thing as an inducement to get you older higher paid employees to quit, or get demoted, or terminated for infractions, which is another method of saving money. Thrall Co. just flat told 215 employees that Christmas day will be their last day. The employees were told that it is less expensive to let the high paid long-timers go, and replace them with younger lower paid new employees they can train more quickly. Since the Fireman's and Enginmen's Unio died into the Transportation something or other in 1967, we have all been on our own.

Demotion, or termination of employment and replacement with lower paid younger employees happens in my field of employment as well, the legal profession.

You have to keep yo nose clean and be a yes man.

the ns has this new program called the s.t.a.r.t. program for discipline. it is an acronym for stupid trainmaster ***hole reaming team. and there are steps to getting in this program with minor, major and serious offenses. minor gets you light reaming with ky, major gets you heavy reaming with ky and serious gets you a complete dry heavy reaming. and now that they done away with the clerks at terminals and went to c.y.o.(certified yoyo office) the ns is just disptching these reaming teams left and right.
