You learn something new everyday. Was watching a documentary today on the Army's Camp Century, were we built a nuclear powered base in the snow and ice of Greenland. When they were building the the power plant they kept showing crates and equipment that were stenciled: ALCO Nuclear Products Schenectady, NY 1957: ALCO built the first production nuclear reactor to operate in the US for the Army at Fort Belvoir. 1963: With three nuclear power plants operational, ALCO sold its nuclear contracts and terminated its involvement in the nuclear field.
