Found this link while searching for Coal Trains in Canada.. Thought some would be interested Here is the Link - Atlas of Alberta Railroads
Wow, neat site. They've done a great job with the maps. And some good information to go along with the maps. Did you add the link on RailSeek? It made me think of my days up in Ft McMurray, and the old Northern Alberta Railway (now Athabasca Northern Railway, I think) and old Waterways station. I had a couple of chances to ride on the old "Muskeg Mixed". I really need to get a slide scanner so that I can transfer some of my old stuff to digital. Regards Ed
Since I am new to the site I have been going through a lot of threads and I finally come across one on Alberta Railroads. Nice to see something about home... :teeth: If you are ever in Calgary... stop by the grain academy at the Round-up Center on the Stampede Grounds... they have a model railroad based on the grain industry showing how the wheat of the prairies makes it to the Great Lakes out east or Vancouver on the west coast... haven't been there in awhile so I can't remember. Here is the website they have some shots of the model railroad... I think a club in Calgary put it together... http://www.grainacademymuseum.com P.S this site is wonderful so much info... I am learning a lot. *head exploding*
