For the hitches, I use an orange paint available locally (Humbrol). I put a strip of masking tape with sticky side up on a piece of wood (held down by more masking tape) and place the hitches on them for spraying. The upright pieces of the hitches with the spigot on the bottom are pushed into holes drilled in a strip of wood, and sprayed orange. When dry the parts are glued to the spines, and the decals added on the flat area.

Good luck with the decals ;)

I bought a can of spray paint during lunch.... As far as getting anything from a GOOD hobby shop, I'm out of luck.... The closest is a bit of a drive for me.... There's a bad one close by though....

Anyway- I have a few things to try at home to get the paint off....

Maybe I'll have these things running by the end of the weekend. Thanks guys!

Just thought I'd give an update on my progress with my 48' spine cars....

I'm still not happy with my orange.... I am having problems finding the right color. I may really end up painting these black....

I finally got my trucks/couplers and decals yesterday! I added the trucks and ran em around flat last night.... These things are sweet!!!! I am highly intimidated by the decals.... Wow!!! I didn't even think that there would be that many and they would be that small. The printing is so small on the instruction/placement sheet.... Oh boy....

Meanwhile, I have been putting together my container chassis that I got... This is another great kit Alan! They have been going together very easily. I'm actually impressing myself. This is my first experience trying to build anything but plastic building kits, and they're actually coming together pretty well.

Hopefully, I can borrow a digital camera in the next few days and show ya'll the mess... uhhhh I mean progress I'm making.

Don't be intimidated by the decals! Put on just the most prominent ones, if you try to locate and place all the tiny ones, it just looks messy.

The instruction sheet with the decals is a bit confusing, but lots of study will show you where to put the important ones [IMG]

I look forward to some pictures ;)
