We have all seen those pics and videos of trucks getting stuck on a grade crossing and then getting smashed by a train. Well, what happens after the train is gone. Someone has to clean up the mess. Here's a look at the aftermath of a trailer full of candy that met it's fate on a grade crossing in Douglasville GA back in 2001.

The truck driver and train crew were all a bit shaken but no injuries were reported

    There were signs of course.

    Then its smash up time

The crossing gates were where that trailer is now

    P0000373.JPG

    yep, that trailer was destroyed

The clean up took a while.

And even after the trailer was hauled off, a large group spent the day picking up spilled product.

It all had to go. It was a long day for a lot of folks. Just thought I'd share these since we don't often see pics of the truck trailers and clean up taken after the train has moved on from the accident.

Wow! These scenes don't get much press here, but this is neat insight into how these incidents are cleaned up.

Could be worse than candy. A beer truck.[IMG]

Well maybe not. From what I understand, Fallstaff was not all that great a beer.[IMG]

"Looks like ol' Betsy won't be doing the beer run anymore... Ma! Do ye think uncle Cletus'll lend us his REO?"

I'm surprised that it's not more mangled than that.

It was a relatively low speed impact.
