Was watching the tube and saw the latest AFLAK commercial. Looked to me to be Sierra #28. Is this correct???
I've heard about this. But have yet to catch it. Maybe it will air during the NASCAR race. Boxcab E50
Gotta be somewhere west of Jamestown. Probably down near Chinese where they used to film other scenes.
The commercial is done like an old silent movie with a dame tied to the tracks. The duck saves her but gets the cowcatcher in the end.
As I understand it, the commercial was filmed at/near Warnerville (on the Sierra with Sierra #28). It was a "cooperative" venture between the Sierra Northern (old Sierra Railroad) and Railtown (part of the CSRM). Ya gotta like the scene where the duck has it's foot in the switch points...
It was filmed west of Warnerville over a five day period in April 2005. Sierra # 28 along with combine # 5 and coaches # 2 and # 6 where also used. My understanding 5 live ducks and one mechanical duck were used in the filming. As a side note, the Movie truck drove into a Guy wire support near the Jamestown Turntable knocking out the use of the air on the Turntable for a while. I’ve heard Operation Lifesaver was not happy with the commercial which might be why it receives little air time
If true, sounds as though it says a lot about the intellect of our society. Inability to differentiate between computer generated antics of a duck, and train safety..... Boxcab E50
