I was going through some odds and ends the other day...found this other postcard I bought at the Apple Shed Restaurant in Tehachapi a couple of years ago in their little gift shop...it gives a nice perspective of the loop...especially since most of us who visit it, rarely see it this green. For a point of reference...the top end of the pic is looking south, Highway 58 runs along the left side of the photo.
Wow Mike thanks for the post if anybody saw that on a layout they would say it wasnt prototypical, Hmmm if only I could fit that in my layout.
Excellent photo. It looks just like the Belmont Shore loop. I had never known before that it was such an accurate model at the club. Even the streams and tunnels on each end are there. The farm is also there and in the correct place. Our view on the layout is from the Highway 58 side.
Of course, I can do that. But the angle will be from Highway 58. I can't duplicate the picture here because the sky board and the wall will be in the way. But, I can get the other shot tomorrow.
I got as high as I could in the train room and it wasn't high enough to duplicate the aerial shot. Here is the best I could do. The asile on the left would be Highway 58. We do not have any roads modeled through the loop area. Our model is intended to be around 1950-1960 timeframe. There are more pictures at my rail images album.
thats awesome..... thats all i have to say on the matter..... just absolutly awesome. great job to all involved in the layout and the picture.... -Rob
