Found this photo of Sheffield, AL yard circa 1935. The Memphis and Charleston built it when they outgrew the original yard in downtown Tuscumbia, AL. This is the only photo I have ever found of this facility. caption I do know they razed this facility to the ground. I have walked the length of it as a child with my grandfather and besides the occasional spike there was nothing left.
Boy, a love-hate photo. I love aerial photos of rail facilities and I hate hearing that the entire site was razed. Thanks for posting the photo and article. :tb-biggrin: :tb-sad:
