If it has a vandy tender, then I think the locomotive is a bust and should be disposed of...of course, I have just opened up a locomotive disposal center for wayward locomotives and would be more than happy to have you send it to me
Nope, no Vandy tender, it would be really tough to let go of one of those! Anyway, just back from the shop and it is not good. So the little beast will go back and get replaced.
