I have two locomotives I want to convert to dcc to operate on a local club layout. I don't have a layout at home currently, and even when that changes it won't be dcc for a while. I bought both locos new in the early 90's, one is a Stewart F unit and the other a Kato GP35. I need to decide how to go about converting them on a limited budget, with really good results at the end of the process. Please share your thoughts. The club uses a Digitrax system. I really don't have the budget to go motor and sound on both locos at the same time, so I'm thinking motor control, then sound, but I don't have enough experience to trust my judgement.
