Sometimes just a loco and the sun are enough to give one a great train spotting feeling, even in 1:220 UP`s Big Boy on the run in the last light of the day!!!
If we are picking favorites I'm going with the shot from last Friday, 5 SP locos, the power and the glory!
Through the tunnels by the river....... Enjoy the ride!!! Best Sven (this module was build by Karl Sinn)
We all appreciate the fantastic trains by AZL and Microtrains etc., but the surrounding has to match this quality demand, too -- I truly believe!!!
But let's focus now on the last miles towards the Bay........ .... a last curve, a last bridge,...... Next stop Niles Junction!! Best, Sven
Love the terrain in all these pics, so realistic!! That BNSF SD40-2B is so cool, but it needs to be in BN "Cascade Green"!
It is early in the morning when we finally arrive in Niles Junction with the "Milk Train" as the locals call the 10. Only a quick stop here, and the journey continues.......
Hang on a second, not so fast. The early morning light throws nice shadows and the Californian sun heats the air up quickly .......... Something GERMAN drives there, right?
If you turn your view to the left you see a car float operated by the Western Pacific and the its line merging into the SP mainline. A small drawing may illustrate this situation: If you zoom-in, this does not really feels like Z-scale / 1:220 anymore, right?
In the heat of the day this last pictures were taken....... We better look for shelter, some bad whether is arriving..... How about ".... it never rains in Southern California....." ??
