Ever since the mid-60's when I first heard the term "Black Maria(s) used for ACL's then fairly new black and yellow scheme used by ACL trainmen, I thought this was a common term instigated by ACL's "Black Brigade" in place of the purple and silver colors. Recently I've heard the term "Bumble Bees" being used (mostly by guys from Florida). Does anyone have knowledge of which of these two terms was most common - the origin of "Bumble Bee"? Since I heard an engineer and several trainmen used the term "Black Maria(s)" for the black and yellow, I thought that was the original term.
