Although, I am not currently building a layout with cantinaries, I like them. When I was out in San Francisco a year ago, I thoroughly enjoyed watching all the street cars (and even buses) go by drawing 'juice' from the lines. I would love to put a intercity layout together that had some european electrics and lash up a bunch a cantinaries. As far as the Acela, I would probably look at buying a set, just not right now.
