here we go i was running my Acela one rainy afternoon on a satuday and when i started it it took to 85 to get it going plus a little push anyone know what happend thanks:tb-cool:
How is the track set up? Is it on a carpet or on a wooden floor or table? Is there any chance there is some error in the electrical set up? Are any other engines on the track? Has this engine run well before and this is the first time you have had a problem?
RRFan, You might try cleaning the track and cleaning the wheels on the locomotive. That usually does the trick when I have problems. I run over the bad spots with a Bright Boy and if the locomoive runs crummy everywhere I run it on a wire cleaner thingy. Good luck! Adam
i just hand cleand the track and cleand the wheels a week ago and yes it has hapend before about 4-5 times the layout is blue 1 inch or something like that with roads grass and balast (i will try to post pics) 3-4 feet off the ground good track to say the least (no clue what that means) no error in electrical i did not do it my dad did because it was too complicated because all the buildings signals all from one transformer (controler) No other engines on the track besides that it ran pretty well
hhp8 I got one of those Bachmann Acela HHP-8s (using track power) and i haven't had any problems (except a pantograph spring coming off), but it could be the pickup or loose wires you should probably open it up and take a look.
On freshly cleaned track, I have noticed that right after vacuuming the carpets, sometimes enough dust settles on the rails to cause sporadic running. It turns out the sweeper's dust bag had filled up and was being bypassed into the room air! I had to clean the track again, and all ran well.
