If you were considering throwing away old accumate parts and pieces you might want to look at this. I am selling some stuff that was headed for the landfill and thought maybe someone needed some spare parts. http://cgi.ebay.com/Atlas-Accumate-...ryZ19121QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Unreal, oldrk! I guess I'd better save my 300 pairs as I convert them to MT. My sense of justice says to throw them away rather an inflicting them on someone else, but glad to see they are attracting bids! Maybe I should start funding my future endeavors! Accumates are the bane of my railroad! They will not hold together on my 2.5% grades when I have more than 30 cars. Oh me oh my, what a conversion nightmare!
I have swapped out Rapido equipped trucks on several older Atlas cars with Accumate equipped trucks and they have been in most cases an identical match and the swaps took only a minute or two. Maybe this is why their is a demand for them. I agree MT couplers are tops. I run a table top layout with no grades and my trains are typically no longer than 20 cars so Accumates have never been a problem for me. Even on uncoupling magnets.
It looks like I have quite an accumulation to get rid of/sell in the not too distant future. Stay cool and run steam.....
I imagine they will be like yardsale fodder. Someone will buy them, use them for awhile, then resell them on ebay. I bought a bunch new and ended up reselling on ebay after I learned of my folly. I would sell around 15 pair at a time. Almost broke even and reinvested in MT couplers. You live and you learn. Wished I could have sold that first wife on ebay and broke even. Oh well....
I have loads of those things just sitting in parts boxes.. Looks like I need to start digging them out..
