The Carolinas have many shortlines that survived (or thrived) thoughout the years. One of my favorites is the Aberdeen & Rockfish railroad. This railroad was started as a logging railroad in the late 1800's and has maintained its relatively small size throughout the years. Here's one of my older photos, from 2000: AR 400
