Thanks to John Sing and "Tudor" of the unitrack group I finally got up the courage to begin tweaking the 25 #4 turnouts on my layout. I was feeling great because I just completed a run of over 45 minutes with two 10 car consists and decided to run a cleaning car.... All of a sudden my VO 1000 started picking the points. YOu know the scenario, the front goes one way anbd the rear goes another.

Oh well so using the information and great pics Tudo has given us I starte filing.... the problem came when I started sharpening points. N Scale is not too dificult if you can find some way to hold things without breaking them. What I did was cut a small piece of wire that just fit between the tail and the turnout arm. By slipping it between them as you can see in the photo you can use a small trianular diamond file and the point are held firmly in place while you file without bending or damaging anything.

This will work with either Kato or Atlas and probably afew other I am not familiar with.
Maybe th next big test tun will go and hour and I can clean the track too!:mwink:

Nice! Good tip for me...I'm on code 80, so precision is the name of the game, esp. now that my track has been in place for a few years and has started to settle.
