A tale on a N scale tree: http://www.myhobbymodels.com/Article:A_tale_of_a_tree What you will find there: All the best, Viorel
Thanks guys . Colorado5O, this tree took around 8 hours (article and photos included). IMO, the weak spot of the tree is the foliage. Even I've chopped it, still looks too big for the N scale. What are you using for foliage for smaller scales (like N) ? Viorel, http://www.myhobbymodels.com
N_S_L, until now I've tried four populus (you can see these here ) and an apple tree, the one in this thread ( here ). For future...I have no specific plan...if I see a real tree and I like it, that will be my model :shade: . Viorel, http://www.myhobbymodels.com
The trees look great. I've roamed around the links on your page and cannot find where you described the material that you used for the bark. What is it? Very good looking "bark"
chartsmalm, I've been using local materials available on Romanian market. The bark was a mixture of cement (used for house building, as a last layer for the walls), glue used for wood, and some black water color. I'm not sure what you have available, but I think any kind of cement will do it. I'd love to see how it work for you . Viorel, http://www.myhobbymodels.com
