I'm pleased to announce that Jim Wiggin has coordinated with Railfan & Railroad Magazine and the Galesburg Railroad Days to bring TrainBoard a special 4 part photo challenge to take place over the next 4 weeks! The first three challenges will operate as usual except that the first place winner will receive a copy of Great Railroad Photography Premiere Issue from Carstens! The fourth challenge will be for "Best Photo from Galesburg!" Galesburg RR Days starts on Thursday June 23rd and runs til Sunday June 26th. This challenge will be limited to those who can make the Galesburg RR days, so if you're in the area mark your calenders! The winner of this challenge will also receive a copy of Great Railroad Photography Premiere Issue from Carstens! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - This is the third week of our 4 part special, and the new theme is Burlington Northern! Going way back--he /did/ say a few years.... 21 Sep, 2008, Great Falls, MT, numerically-matched (2891 and 2892) Geeps rest in the evening sun at the GN diesel house:
A White Face An ex-BN "white-faced" loco pulls interchange traffic from the Iowa Interstate at Rock Island. 3/29/10.
Well the poll had closed early last weekend, so the results were unaffected by the shutdown. Congratulations to Kurt Moose!
Nice shot Kurt. I like that you actually got tlhe crew too. It's cool to see an engine I've actually ran.
Thanks all!! :teeth: Did you know there's a story behind this loco too? It was actually stolen, along with two other units, by a transient in Seattle!! He made it from N. Portal in Seattle, all the way to Kent!! Happened Feb 17th, 1990!
Thanks again everyone!! Just got my "Great Railroad Photography" in the mail today from Carstens! Better than I thought-it has a section on the Milwaukee Road by Karl Zimmermann!! Woot Woot!
Kurt, glad you like the Great Railroad Photography by R&R. Thanks for participating in this years Galesburg RR Days photo contest.
