I realized I cut a section of my river too deep. The base is 2" foam and the river is two levels with a dam separating the two.

The upper level is a bit to deep. Best way to fill it in some? Joint compound? Sculptamold?

Perhaps use some of the scrap foam originally removed?

If we're talking filling in anything over 1/4" I'd say use what foam you have to fill in first. You can then use something like sculptimold to fill in the cracks/joints and let that dry. Then make sure the layout is very level and the area is sealed and pour in a watery mix of sculptimold or even just plaster. Water settles perfectly flat and level, so using a water-heavy mix and will give you a good flat bottom for the upper river when it eventually dries.

It'd be nice if I responded to the thread I started. :)

I figured out my problem. I'm building a dam similar to the one shown in the May '10 issue of MRR Magazine and forgot to cut the spillway in the dam. So some slight modification and I'm back in business.
