Obviously I'm unsure of myself regarding DCC wiring when I ask the following: Is there any need to change the frog polarity on a yard switch when both legs go to dead ends? As a matter of fact, all ends on my proposed layout are dead ends. Does this make a difference? Thanks for any thoughts on this. Jim

Of course! The polarity still needs to change depending on which leg the frog is being entered on (or going to).

Thanks for the quick response Rick. Another question: if I have a yard only layout with 18 switches and I use three hex frog juicers, then what else do I need, such as booster(s), circuit protector, etc.? I am still planning to start off using the Command 2000.

You don’t NEED anything else. Depending on how complicated you are going to make things, you might want to subdivide the yard into power districts, if you think there may be a lot of derails/shorts, but most folks make their entire yard a district.
