    Hey guys,
I ned some information on a Union Paciffic steam loco, and if they had them. I got a 0-4-0 steamer to paint an all.. Being I got tons of B&O stuff its not likely to paint it up B&O, not to mention Its for a friend. I need to know...

    1. If Union Paciffic actually had 0-4-0 steam switchers on their roster. This is a Mantua HO model I have, with a slope back tender.

    2. If someone knows where online I can get a picture of one to follow as a guide line to detail/decal this loco if UP had them.

    3. If they did have them, what road number an class were they?

Anyonewith help on this I will greatly appreciate it! THANKS in advanced!

I have steam that was built after 1900 and it shows "0". Will look around.

I found one. It was UP #3. I checked the OSL and LASL rosters and came up blank. There was no other info on it, just the number.

    Jim,
Dang.... This might be a difficult one to accomplish! But I need to get it done or close enough to begin the detailing/decalling of it done.

You find anything or anyone else does. Please post it here with pictures or links to the information etc. It will be greatly appreciated!

John, I contacted John Bromley, UP's director of Public relations. He can only find one 0-4-0 on UP's roster, known as the "Oregon Teapot." I have now asked him if the teapot had a number.
This is also a test for a new signature item.

    Hey slimjim(Jim)
See if you might be able to come up with numbers for the UP 0-4-0(s) if possible. I'll do a search on the number or numbers of these loco's an see what might come up! Any information right now would be very usefull! I'd be very thankfull for anything you might be able to dig up everyone! This seems to be a stumper project! Why do I always get into the hardest of projects.... I guess the challenge is what gets me but its fun! :D

Anyway, everyone else, THANKS for the help an concern. This is kind of a special project for me being I normally wouldn't have gotten into the UP unless for their articulateds an all, but this one is got a meaning to it for a friend that I'm doing it for. THANKS again everyone! I sure appreciate it!

I didn't know what you exactly ment by "#3" an all I thought it was one of a few 0-4-0's which yeah I got info on which was a pre 1900's loco... So.. I guess I might have to freelance alittle on it an all. Being the 0-4-0 I have is a Mantua an is after 1900 so.... Its a "newer" 0-4-0 So, I'm looking to find some alternating switchers of UP to now freelance this 0-4-0 to make it look at least part way prototypical... THANKS Jim!

Well John, I am still looking for the 0-4-0, but perhaps seeing their 0-6-0 will help get you going? What do you think? [IMG] [IMG]

I looked in a couple of my books that go back beyond 1900, but found no mention of an 0-4-0 numbered "3" for the UP.

I do remember seeing a photo of an 0-4-0 that had pushed a much larger engine onto a turntable, and was riding along to push the bigger engine into the roundhouse stall. I think that was all the photo caption said about it, and don't know where that was.

I know the UP used 0-6-0's to push and pull the 4-6-6-4 and 4-8-8-4 engines through the Oakite washing stations at Cheyenne, I have seen that.

Thanks guys! I have come to the thought of freelancing it alittle! Being no 0-4-0's seem to have been UP so.. Anyway, I'm going to take the 0-4-0 I have by Mantua an make it look like this:

And come up with some kinda road number for it an detail it as a 0-6-0 an so on.... it will be slightly freelanced as the type of loco goes an all. But will have that little bit of "prototypicalness" to it..... But Its a special loco for a freind so..... All I can do is my best on it an all.... Being its not right really. but its the thought that counts....... THANKS AGAIN GUYS!!! I sure do appreciate it!
