Anyone know what CSX C40-8W's got white cab roofs? I want to model one an all from a Bachmann Spectrum, but I'm not sure if any got the white roof treatment.... Especially the CSX C40-8W #7652... Anyone know if her got a white cab roof? Any information will be greatly appreciated....

nskid, THANKS! I wish I could find out if the C40-8W #7652 had a white roof or not as I have the HO scale Bachmann Spectrum version of it an all.. I'm adding my own snowplow an a few other small details that just aren't right to the prototype so.... An the added white roof would be something different... I want to later get the C40-8, without the wide cab to add to the set, An then I'll have the C44-9, the C40-8W an then the C40-8... Plus to get a AC4400, an to finish up my SD-80MAC I'll have some decent looking CSX units....
John, you would have to consider the fact that 7652 may have been repainted into the new Dark Future scheme, if you are striving for accuracy. If not, the hobby is for fun, right! P.S. I had 3 different Bachmann C40-8's All of them had major gear problems after a while. Just becareful because I ended up having to "Dummify" them and tow them behind my Athearns.
Pat, Your right with it being the hobby, I'm just tryin to be prototypical an all. Thats why I asked, to see if it had the white roof or not. If not I'll just go an leave it in the Bright Future scheme an all.. without the white roof. As for the Spectrum C40-8. This isn't what I want to hear! HA! I'll put my own gearing in it if needed. As far as it it tho, I got it for $20 so.... Which wasn't bad, an it runs really well an all... Even quiet (Which I didn't expect) but it isn't to bad, make me mad an I'll put in Athearn geared trucks! With my own type mount to go with the Bachmann mount. I guess I'll see how it goes an all....
