Saw this unit at the NS yard in Irondale (Birmingham) Alabama last fall. It really looks good in the BNSF Heritage 1 colors. The unit was on a transfer run.
Not bad.........but IMNSHO it would look better in Mandarin orange & white (seeing as it's in Birmingham and all..... )
Bob, I hate that the Frisco units were gone from Birmingham by the time I made my first railfan trip there back in the mid 80's. However, the BN and now BNSF has almost always been a good place to visit when there.
I have never seen a BNSF switcher... however, one of the most interesting BNSF units I have ever seen was an SD24 type unit! Harold
