That is a good catch. I caught an ES44 in Mendodata Illinois back in 2006. Look closely and you'll see why it isn't moving.
Beautiful locomotive, with a brand new shiny paint job. What's that hanging on the Hogger's side window? Is that why it's not moving, or do they just not want scratch the paint before it's delivered, and they get paid? :tb-biggrin:
Well it almost looks like the wheels are on the wrong side of the track or should I say boarder. baffled:
Sorry guys, my memory is going, there were two of those that day. 4609 was fine, it was 4606 that was involved in an incident. Fortunately I wrote this down in the image description in my RI account. I had talked to one of the maintenance guys at Mendota and learned the unit was involved in a emergency brake, slack between this and another unit caused a broken coupler, smashed ditchlights and crumpled porch.
Newly manufactured diesel locomotive being delivered from US manufacturer to Mexican railways. Locomotive is not pulling a train but being moved as part of the cargo. Texas Mexican Railway Joint Yard, Corpus Christi. (1970s?) This is one of the 1250 photos I have donated to the Texas A&M University Corpus Christi library archives, including photos I took over the last 45 years of railroads, local scenes, news events, TV station operations, old houses, buildings, and motion picture production in Corpus Christi and surrounding South Texas towns. The university has put on line a sample of about 100 of the photos and a searchable finding guide to all 1250. Texas AM University-Corpus Christi - Interior WideSmall
