That IS a nice pic. It's an SD70M-2- NS doesn't have any AC power, electing to stay with DC. I see 'em on the Macon-Valdosta line often. But still, a nice pic:thumbs_up:    Keep 'em coming!
Personally, I wouldn't delete it- looks too nice. Besides, with the similarities between an SD70M-2 and its AC-exquipped brother, sometimes it's hard to tell. IIRC, the only other RR that has these type of locos is Canadian NAtional. NS just prefers to stick with DC traction motors and locomotives rated no higher than 4000 HP.
Thanks! I wish i woulda waited to push the shutter but i never know what the delay on my camera will do
Here's a Borg ACe so clean grandma could eat off of it, at last light under threatening skies--one of my favorite shots:
Easy. A signed release from UP, and membership in Sherman Hill Model RR Club to work on various restoration projects in the UP roundhouse. The diesel pit is mere yards from the roundhouse.
CIT ACe. Here is a CIT ACe #140, I caught this in Alliance sitting outside the C building this afternoon.
CIT has ACes? I didn't know that... EDIT: Oh, wait... they're not ACes. http://www.locophotos.com/Search.php?SearchModel=EMD+SD70M-2&Search=Search They're SD70M-2s.
Cool, Bolth of the paint schemes look neat, the demonstrator and the CIT. The CIT/CEFX is one of my favorite schemes.
The only external difference I know of is on the other side. The ACe has two large horizontal grilles on the inverter cabinet. Since the SD70M-2 has no inverters, it has no grilles there.
Here is my picture of the C&NW heritage engine. The photo was taken on the 6th of July at the North Platte yard. I was here with Alaska GP49 and it was a great time to be there.
